This is my first attemp to replicate Ed Lenz wind turbine (http://www.windstuffnow.com/main/lenz2_turbine.htm)

It has no alternator/generator yet. And I just attached a bike computer to see how it will perform in a regular normal wind here in Seattle.

  • the airfoil is on the wrong angle, its suppose to face slightly inward so it gets pushed around and the airfoil drags it around by the shape. Close though, I built one awhile ago

  • if torque is important does weight have any influence? more weight better?

  • im building 3 too,it will spin a alternator with neo magnets,i may mount to my roof

  • Musta po kayo! Nice Video & Project. U reminded me of a filipino inventor Mr. Solanos. He was selling his compact vertical axis wind turbine way back 1977. The turbine is only about 2 feet by 1 feet yet can power up a television set. Its brushless & he makes it himself. Made in la loma, philippines. Its called solanos wind generator.

  • Very nice I like it

  • smaller is faster. larger is torque. more torque bigger VaWt more power. Smaller Dia. Vawt faster RPM with the right Gen. can product enough power to run a toaster
