great tone! can you record thaikovsky's fifth symphony horn solo? even though it is only an excerpt?
-
Is it true that french horns switch between the two inlaid instruments many times during play?

This is amazing! The slur up to the A didn't even sound real! I LOVE THIS!

You inspire me! I want to become a great player, like you!

Magnificent.

What University do you teach at?

Mr. Park, the way you slurred up to that A soooo easily is amazing! Any advice on how to make that kind of slur easier? I didn't even see your embouchure change. Beautifully played!

I never knew this was on here. Lol! I played this last year for Solo&Ensemble, and basically learned it with another recording. But, with this one, it is truly amazing:)
Btw I got a 1! Yay me!:)

@icool58 He plays high A open. It is in tune on a good 8D. On many horns it needs to be fingered T12 or T3.
Its interesting that you play E and F# both 2nd valve. Do you find F# as 2 and 3 out of tune? Very nice by the way.

I would not play F# T2&3. The preferred alternate fingering for F# would be T1&2. Sometimes I use that fingering for fast passages.

Yes, my typo, T1/2. Is T2 standard for you because I always tell my students that when slurring it ads reliability to make a valve change if possible provided there are no intonation issues. Of course you seem to have great embouchre control but I was wondering about the purpose for T2 and if it was intonation,

I tell my students the same thing. Sometimes I will have them play the "E" T1/2 and the F# T2. Same thing with F (T) and G (T1). However on slow pieces like this one I prefer the smoothness of playing both notes with the same fingering. Although sometimes it is smoother to move a valve!!! (whatever works best)

Wow, this is very excellent. I was wondering, since I'm going to have to play this as my solo, do you have any tips on keeping a solid tone on the high G? I can get a solid F natural and maybe F sharp as well; I can't always keep a solid "G" though.
Thanks :]

Here are some suggestions for high notes: Keep you lips close together without pinching; Roll your lips in and play more on the outside surfaces of your lips. You might also try sliding your lower lip under your upper lip more. Good luck
