I'm so tired of hearing anybody try to defend this lame piece of "legislation." You didn't even pass it for the benefit of the people, but for the benefit of the health insurance companies that caused the problem in the first place. It is nothing more than a bailout bill for them. You can take this law and stick it where the sun doesn't shine! If you cared the slightest bit about real people, you'd have insisted on a public option or single payer. Your administration is a corporatist one.

@WKPporgressive So much for his lasar like focus on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

Kudos for trying to rein in the greedy healthcare system, but alas they are too powerful. They've convinced the world that it's exactly what we need. The best that we can't afford. If I had a magic button that would replace every elected official in Washington, I would push it now....
For all of our citizen's that are facing bankruptcy and death...SORRY! I will pray for you!

i agree, in fact - we don't have to guess, just look at any government program, all are unsustainable on their own and all over run cost estimates. government programs always get worse never better. they are bureaucratic money pits designed to reward a select few, and that does not include the working class or the dependents.
look at our veterans affairs, it is a shambles. go to any va hospital, and look around.

Holding Insurance more accountable. You are giving them billions in subsidies to do what they already do. You have wasted a year and a lot of taxpayer dollars to pass bills that the people don't want. You have to lie chest and steal to get votes. The loans for education have no place in healthcare. The taking American legal right to choose has no place in healthcare. FYI Insurance co. raise premiums because health care cost go up.

Healthcare reform was suppose to fix the problem of high cost care. Why cost have gone up dramatically. Insurance goes up because health cost go up. Yet these bills do nothing about why cost are so high and rising. Even if you shift premiums from insurance to gov (taxes), the high cost of care is still there. And more then likely to rise even more under this plan. That is why this bill is so bad and they have to lie cheat and steal (lying about whats in it and buying votes) to get it passed.

So basically what Barokeydoke wants Congress to do in order to create ObozoCare is to amend a law that doesn't exist yet by passing a bill without voting on it.....and maybe sprinkle in a little pixie dust while they're at it.....yea,that's the ticket

thanks for saving me the eyeful, but thanks for the diverse view. that's what we are all about. but you might want to go help some of your socialist friends get a successful - then it might have some appeal. let me know when you get back,
peace,

@mkedean1: For what it's worth, I could give you a much longer earful about how I, as a socialist, am disappointed at how America's socialist parties are determined to stay obscure through boneheaded positions and poor management than I could about the Dems and Republicans failing to serve the people. Our leaders are bigger dysfunctional idiots than even Tea Party folk.
A socialist criticism of the WSWS is hardly interesting to most people though. I doubt there's even a million of us.
Mr. President: I am so proud of you I could burst! Thanks for defending us in so many ways and for changing the way the world looks at our country. It has been difficult for me lately to say proudly I am an american. But your bold and enthusiastic policies have restored my faith in a bright future for a country that I love so much... Now... if only I could have forgiveness in my heart for the selfish, the heartless, the racists, the ones who wish you wrong I would be OKAY. God bless the USA!

You've had 7 hours to think about it and that's the best you could come up with? Really?
