how many tracks can you record on this ?
-
can you plug this into the computer and save the tracks there instead of a casette?
-
how much did it sell for? I'm selling one... in lancashire england if anyone's interested

@dubified89 Yeah, that's a good idea. I happen to live in Korea, so I don't have any of my recording tape equipment with me. I don't even have an recording equipment with me, but I'm going back next year to start doing some recordings. My goal is to do all my recording on my tape machines like my 424 and 488 and then some of the mixes to digital. I also have the option of doing my mixes on type IV tape with my Sony tape deck. I really can't wait to go back and do some recordings.

@fatcatbuzz You can record to analog then master digitally, get the best of both. It sounds better imo

I use a 464 and I have a DAW unit. I think that it is a great combo for me. But, what I really like about portastudios is that. If I want to create "demos" then I'm not using so much space on the hard drive!

Hi, can you tell me how one can move these tracks onto a computer for mixing/ mastering?
Thanks!

What type of tapes do you use for this?
-
I got one & it's a great machine.
& I like it for it's durability & reliability & ease of use.

Hi, im interested buying one of this portastudio...but i have some doubts about the tape, do you have the booklet or maybe you can xplain to me how it works???, thanks.
I used to have one of these years ago, I bought it after learning The Fugees recorded a whole album using one of these. I still have a few of the cassettes sitting around the studio that I never had a chance to mix down to 2 track format before I sold mines years ago. Good machine.

Just for the record... no pun intended...
TASCAM is still in business in California and you can get a lot of the parts directly from them.
