Thanks for doing this. My mother is 49 and is dealing with advancing degenerative myopia. Her retina in her right eye detached two years ago and we have recently dealt with a sub-vitreous tare in her good eye. She struggles with it and doctors have told her her entire life one of her children will have this. We all believed we had dodged the bullet until I was in class two years ago and I suddenly couldn't see the board. I have myopia, but we don't know if its degenerative...

@RagaMuffinRavynTV Sorry to hear that, and understand how you feel, my partner can only see same distance (25cm) at 31.... unable to walk anywhere without glasses.... is 20/600 or minus 6. I truly relate to how upsetting it is for the partner, when I see how he struggles when hasn't got his glasses on. He tells me not to worry about his eyes, but how can I not? No one should have to be so reliant on glasses, and seems to be slightly getting worse

My boyfriend has it and at 18 he can only see me at a foot away... tops. I'm so scared for him and have been trying to do research, but I start crying too hard.

I'm 25 and have the same thing. Its terrible :( I only have some vision in one eye left.
