Well said, connorchapman, great ballad. One correction, though, abotu the single. The reverse side of "Fever" was a song titled "You Don't Know." (There have been later 45 of "Fever" with other songs on the reverse, but not "Don't Smoke in Bed.") The original 78 of "Don't Smoke in Bed" has "Everybody Loves Somebody" in the reverse. :)

This superb ballad was the reverse side of the
original 78 recording of "Fever" and is now regularly sung in concert by a Peggy Lee admirer K.D. Lang
