I found this track with no guitar and just Geddy and Neal. Awesome to play along with. What Lifeson does with the chords is amazing and was really fun to learn. This is really a blast to play on guitar! Had a chance to see them this past summer on the Time Machine Tour. They were great! This s my tribute to the Moving Pictures, Exit Stage Left era Lifeson.

I recorded this live using my Line 6 Pod X3 Live and a Fender Jeff Beck Strat direct to the line inputs on a Canon HD cam.

  • Dude! I have watched about 11 videos of other people playing this song. Some were good and I give them a lot of credit, but when it came to their solo's they couldn't quite get it right. I guess a cover doesn't have to be exact, but you are the man! I mean you nailed the whole song! I have been playing guitar since I was 12 years old and I am in my late 40's and still can't play like you! I expect to see you touring the world very soon! You've definataly got the look of a rock star!!

  • @MrRotorhead777 Thank you so much! Your comment means a lot to me!

  • you played the solo at 150% or 200% on the climbs, i couldn't really tell but i know it was extra..lol! Alex does the first two climbs twice, and the final one with the sustain note is once. i wish i could play it at 100% properly let alone add extra! wow, you really got the fluidity on the solo that Alex always speaks of, that's my goal for someday!! hey, tell us about the backing track, it sounds really good. is it on youtube? the midi versions are so-so at best, not original enough.

  • @ACELLOFAWARENESS Thanks a lot for the comments and taking the time to write them. I saw some of your Rush concert videos and realized that we were siting in the first row right next to you at Jones Beach. The track is availablefrom apple through Garage band as part of an Alex Lifeson lesson.

  • What are your settings im trying to learn this song...

  • @REAPER3295 I used a Line 6 Pod X3. I started with their stock sound called Purple and modified it. The single coil pickups of the strat influence the sound as well as switching pickups.

  • Great job. I'm just learning this song. It's fun to play and the way Alex has the chords set up, the changes are not too bad to play. Haven't started learning the solo yet.

  • Well done man. I've been playing this song incorrectly for about 30 years, and you just helped me figure it out. THANKS!

  • nice, I`m a very Rush big fan since 1980, and saw some concerts live.. greetings from madrid .Spain.

  • @3845alex Have you ever seen Lifeson's live pdeal board setup? There are always Barbies all around it. Sometimes holding up signs. They are known as Al's Babes.

  • whats with the barbie doll head at the beggining?

  • Love the pastel tone of your jacket. It's very Lifeson early 80's! Try to find a powder blue one!

  • Wow! A Rush friend of mine on fb posted the link and I just watched your video twice. Amazing. You've got the outfit down, too! Bravo!!!

  • Wow!!!! I really like your guitar tone and sound, Your playing is very great!!!

    Awesome guitar cover!!! :)

  • how the fuck can you get that kind of sound out of a stratocaster?? amazing

  • @joesatriani1200rulez I personally don't like single coil pickups..
