The Polar Music Prize today informed (in Sweden) that JOSÉ ANTONIO ABREU AND EL SISTEMA will be rewarded The Polar Music Prize 2009. The recipient receives a total amount of one million SEK. The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 by the late Stig Stikkan Anderson, a true legend in the history of popular music. Stig Anderson was the publisher, lyricist and manager of ABBA. Today, the Polar Music Prize has become one of the most prestigious music prizes in the world.

This program should be included in every community of the United States and this video should be shown to every parent, teacher and student in our schools. It is an example of what is possible with the right attitude and opportunity for every youngster who deserves this opportunity. We may never know who is not recognized with a great talent for the world to recognize and remember! Bravo to Mr. Abreu, who should be an inspiration for everyone who appreciates and loves music!

no digo que no merezcan tener lujos, porque son orquestas en las que yo soñaria con tocar, pero porque se llevan todo el dinero ellos?? porque, o le dan los reales a ls orquestas infantiles, o a las juveniles, obviamente, se los va na dar a las inafntiles y porque?? porque no hay suficientes fondos, asi de simple, ademas esto no lo estoy inventando yo, lo se de muy buena fuente

no tengo como demostrarlo :/ estoy en la orquesta sinfonica infantil caracas o como se llamaba antes, ahora nos llamamos sinfonica juvenil de montalban, en los ultimos conciertos y eventos importantes, nos mandan a llevar almuerzo, casi nos dan agua, y de vaina nos llevan en autobuses, antes teniamos los autobuses turismo de lujo, ahora nos vamos en unos marca encava tipo transporte publico, todos los fondos del sistema se los llevan orquestas como la juvenil de caracas o la teresa carreño,

No tengo 1 sino 4 amigos que pertenecen a orquestas y lo que me cuentan ellos es muy distinto a lo que tu me dices, eso por un lado y por el otro no tengo manera de saber si es verdad que perteneces a una orquesta. Es màs me puedes decir que eres un viejo de 40 y que eres el mejor amigo de Abreu y no tengo manera de comprobar que es verdad. Yo hablo de lo que me consta y no voy a especular sobre algo que no tengo manera de verificar.

pero yo tengo 16 años y pertenezco a una orquesta infantil y estamos travesando una gran crisis economica, no tenemos becas, no hay buenos medios de transporte, no hay almuerzos en los eventos importantes, no hay ningun apoyo de el gobierno de chavez, al principio si apoyaba al sistema de El Maestro, pero ahora nos han dado la espalda

Precisamente, el maestro Abreu tuvo una idea maravillosa y durante màs de treinta años estuvo trabajando pràcticamente con la uñas, porque los proyectos por màs novedosos y maravillosos que sean, necesitan de financiamiento; cosa que en epocas anteriores no tuvo. Ahora El Sistema se masificò porque precisamente ese financiamiento que antes no tuvo ahora lo tiene. Eso es lo que se le agradece a Chavez. No es fanatismo, es saber reconocer lo que hay que reconocer.
