Yea since majority rules lets just vote to execute all the rich and divide up their money to the poor! oh wait, people have individual rights in this country.
Obama rocks. Plain and simple. At least he didn't put us into a war for no reason that has gone on for ten years. I love the malcontents and the haters. It's hilarious that people hate on the new President when cleaning up the mess that the complete moron we call George Bush created and left. Politicians suck and so do alot of Americans.
there are hardship exemptions from the mandate for people for whom the premiums would be more than 8% or their income, so it will be unlikely to have the effect you suggest, at least according to the nonpartisan CBO, which has calculated that the bill will reduce the deficit by $138 Billion over 10 years.
@joshatkins94 Do you realize that you didn't address a single question that I asked? We could institute many of the reforms you mention WITHOUT scrapping the entire system we currently have. There is certainly VAST rom for improvement but there is a damned good reason why people come here from all over the world for treatment. This is fixing a leaky roof by burning the house down.
Not too damn smart.
And I beleive about 70% of the people are on my side in this arguement.
It's not really a federal program, as single payer (as many other capitalist countries have) or a public option (a very centrist option), are not included. Instead it's really just a small number of important reforms to the regulation of the health insurance industry, most importantly banning denial of coverage based on preexisting conditions, banning denial of coverage when you get sick, and removing wasteful govt-subsidies of insurance companies.
Look my friend. Can you possibly be serious when you say that it is 100% paid for and reduces the deficit? It is adding 30 million uninsured's to the dole. People who by and large don't pay taxes or premiums.
Even Pelosi just stated, " we have to vote for the bill and pass it to see what's in it".
That's an incredibly stupid statement, wouldn't you agree?
Did you ever hear of ANY Federal program that saved money or came in at or below budget? I can't think of a single one.
I don't see how giving Americans the opportunity to buy PRIVATE health insurance instead of being rejected is in any way tantamount to turning America into a communist shithole.
