Video 1 of our new teaching series on the Gospel of Mark. Some main points to take:
- Be as John the Baptist -- be humble and point to Jesus
- If you believe in Jesus and haven't been baptized, get baptized! It's a great step of obedience in following Jesus and is emblematic (an outward showing) of our salvation.
- Look to Jesus, the Son of God and focus of the Gospel. He is our hope.

NOTE: As stated, the work of Baptism is not the means to enter Heaven, but there is no reason for a Christian not to want to be baptized. That's like saying, 'I'm all about _______ (Insert Favorite Sports Team Name), but I'm not willing to cheer for them.'

  • For brief clarification -- Sterling is not saying that you have to be dunked in water to be saved, but he is saying that there is no reason for a believer NOT to want baptism and pursue it and get that accomplished out of love for Jesus. If you haven't been baptized, feel free to come up our way and we'd love to baptize you :). It's a great step of obedience in following Jesus.

  • @crossallegiance (I think that's VERY clear from the video, but we've had comments from people skimming through)

  • @crossallegiance I'll take you up on that offer.

  • I like how you, at any second, seem to burst with rejoice and laughter. You have that light coming from you that can only come from Christ. Halleluyah, praise the Lord, and I liked very much to pray with you.

  • I had ears but did not hear. Would read the Word but just didn't get it. It took a brother in Christ who likes to make YouTube videos to wake me up of all people. I thank Jesus for you.

  • This video led to my baptism. I had many of the Elect come across me and give me Scripture. RE: Baptism no ears to hear or eyes to see. THe Baptism was the final step. Glory to Jesus! HE has given me a peace, joy, and security I have never felt as a Christian He INCREASED when I decreased. He gives patience and calmness I do not possess. Thank you for this video. You were the last person to say it is necessary .It is not just symbolic. It was SUPERNATURAL. Glorify Jesus!

  • Again, you are my brother. lol

  • great video but to commenter below, are you offended that he went against traditions outside of the Scriptures that you have bought into?

  • 5 Minutes of this video I watched and being a Catholic impressed really that someone is not pointing the fingers onto the Church. But Unfortunately after 5 minutes traditional attacks on the faith.

Good Explanation but reminds me of a Jew and a Muslim who asked me that where did your infants go when they die?

Jew said my infant circumcised and entered Judaism.

Muslim said my infant listened (Allah Hu Akabar) God is Great (Azaan) in his ear and became Muslim.

    Christian said we are waiting.:-)

  • @crossallegiance ALL PRAISE TO THE LORD OF LORDS' AND THE KING OF KINGS JESUS CHRIST!! HE that is the very LIGHT AND HOPE OF THE WHOLE WORLD... i cannot ever praise HIM enough.. not long now, and we will all be saved and see HIM.. just how lucky are we. GOD BLESS brother.

  • There's nothing wrong with pure hands. Clean hands, pure hands, clean heart, pure heart, it's all good. Peace!
