Charity in Full Swing at State Department of General Services
The uncertainties of the economic future have not prevented state employees from opening up their hearts and wallets this year to those less fortunate. State workers from the Department of General Services (DGS) will continue to give in the coming weeks as they collect gifts for the needy and food for the hungry this holiday season.
The morning of Thursday, December 18, DGS employees were stationed in front of their well-known Ziggurat building to accept food donations for Food-Link, which distributes the food to more than 80 Sacramento programs. Participants did not even need to leave their cars as DGS Director Will Bush and employees gladly accepted donations in a makeshift drive-thru.
