Experts in the field of faculty development stress the importance of the first class meeting for establishing an effective foundation for the learning activities you have planned within the course.

In this CaseStory you will meet five experienced faculty members across a range of subject areas, see them and their students at work in first day of class sessions, and listen to them explain the rationale for their class session designs. You will see activities which address the following goals for a first class meeting:
