Rant: The Death Penalty is Not Enough

thats called communism u retard. or at least that is the idea but how it always turns out sucks so stop daydreaming. by the way it would be better for them to clean off the spraypaint as punishment and pay for whatever expenses it caused

Do you want to die? No. So why do you want to see people die? Because that's really all it boils down to for you. You lack compassion and empathy, so you want to see some blood. It isn't you in the chair so you don't give a fuck.

@yukisohma19 One human life is worth exactly one human life. One side of the scale equals the other side. Exactly what prison sentence or rehab program would you rank as a perfect equivalent?  If we grant retarded people all the same rights as mentally capable people, should they not have all the same responsibilities? Are you saying that their handicap deserves some sort of special treatment? As if they were somehow special? Better than the rest of us? I say nay; let there be an eye for an eye.

@tsilb You can't say that's "fair", and you can't throw around random assumptions when it involves human life. If you want to play the "fair" game, then tell me how "fair" it is to murder a human being through a system, human beings that are probably mentally damaged, murdering them in a way in which they cannot defend their own lives - the chance even their victims had. You just advocated people being morally devoid, you advocate the type of shit that causes and allows for death and pain.

Great rant, i'm in complete agreement. Our prisons have become country clubs with better amenities and health care then most citizens enjoy.

Keep up the great work, look forward to watching future rants ;-)

@AJTheFriendlyTaoist The other problem with your plan for theft is that it's only a minor inconvenience to a decent thief. If a pickpocket only gets caught one time in ten, then he can just pay his fines out of his takings, carry on stealing, and still be making money.

@AJTheFriendlyTaoist There's also an inherent danger in stressing detterent effect that people may come to feel that it's more important that justice is seen to be done than that justice actually is done. If you encourage people to reason that hacking one guy's privates off with a chainsaw will stop it happening to ten other people, then the temptation is going to be to hack off *someone's* privates with a chainsaw to discourage future criminals, even if you aren't sure you've got the right guy.
