This November, Californians will vote on Prop 8, a ban on marriage for same sex couples in California. Prop 8 "eliminates the right of same sex couples to marry."

@arthurrobins Leviticus chapter one tels you how to sacrifice a lamb. Have you giving God your burnt offering today? Leviticus 11:7 tells you not to eat pig. Do you eat pork/bacon? Chapter 11 also bans shellfish and seafood. So, why does the "no gay" rule still apply in Leviticus and none of the others?

How about the government just getting completely out of the "marriage" business? Matrimony is a religious dictum. There shouldn't be any recognition of any religious doctrine, what so ever. There shouldn't be tax regs that favor marriage or procreation. It's none of the states business, if I want to have a domestic relationship another adult (or 2,3..). It's contract law, if any.

At what place do u want to get married? A nice fancy church? Where the people of that church don't agree with your point of view. So when they say they cant do it. Then you can run and look for a lawyer? Why? To shave your way of life down a Christians throat.....
