It didn't fee like it at the time, but VF3 is kind of the first step towards SEGA failing. Model 3 never lived up to the glory of Model 2, SEGA's era was over.

This is not a horrid game. VCirtua Fighter has fell off years ago but 2,3 and maybe 4 was the best fighting game that came out at the time (though 3 could be argued against with Street fighter 3: 3rd strike.
