"My Man Rocks Me (With One Steady Roll)" was written by J. Berni Barbour and recorded on Black Swan Records by minstrel and vaudeville singer Trixie Smith in 1922. Note the appearance of both "rocks" and "roll" in the title. Don't you love the way language and culture evolve?
