Oh my gosh - how beautiful! I have a B&G and a Severe. I would love for them to be able to fly! How old were your birds when you began training them?

@ParksideZoo We train most of our flyers at natural fledging age so they are babies when we start them. You can read more about how we train our flyers at libertywings com Chris

This is so amazing! I absolutely love all your videos. I african grey just learned how to fly. I would really like to know how you trained them to come back to you. I think I would be too scared to try it with my baby though. I don't know what I would do if he flew away and never came back. Did this ever happen to you with one of your birds??

Flying since 1993 I have lost one partially trained adult bird at a fair in Orlando FL. We have also suffered 5 deaths from various accidents at fairs, including dog attacks, poison, a power line, and a window. We have lost more to non flying accidents. All losses are difficult to live with. We are very close to our birds. It is even harder for me to stop flying our birds since they so clearly love it. We now fly 20+ birds almost every day, all year long. The odds are way in our favor. Chris
