Various reactions in an Oxygen-Rich Environment
(1) Burning Magnesium ribbon, burns brighter in oxygen producing a solid smoke of magnesium oxide particles. (Replay)
(2) Burning steel wool, burns vigorously in oxygen, giving a shower of sparks and Fe2O3.
(3) White Phosphorous ignites spontaneously and burns with a very bright flame, forming a dense white smoke of solid oxide (P4O10)
(4) When Sulfur is heated with a bunsen burner till it is melted, it will burn in air. In oxygen it burns even brighter with a bright blue flame, producing sulfur dioxide.

  • I did these experiments, and when you say pungent, you mean pungent. It was nasty smelling
