Sapphire speaks about how her novel "Push" became the inspiration for the new movie "Precious," and her skepticism when she was first approached by the director, Lee Daniels.
Sapphire said that percious in the movie the part were percious is picturing herself as a white women is percious having idenity problem. but in real life she is Blue Rain.
Sapphire wrote a great book that describes a 'Precious' going through much worse abuse from her family and peers than the abuse shown in the movie. Probably the movie had to be 'sanitized' so it would get an 'R' rating. Anyway, the Precious described in 'Push' is much taller (6'4"-6'7"), heavier (375-400 lbs.), and darker-complected (skin matching new black clothes in a department store) than Gabby Sidibe. I guess they can't find anyone 6'7" 400-lbs. and dark-complected to play 'Precious' lol
There is NO look that great: I've seen them all and this obsession w/looks is delusional. The world is focusing on "beauty" as people act uglier and uglier. Soon we willl understand that looks are just the icing on the cake and it's the quality of behavior which determines one's good looks. Remember "Pretty is as pretty does"? That's REAL!
