Mass schooling DOES exactly what it was designed to do. And it does it VERY WELL. Here is a few points, not in order necessarily.
1) kill the natural love of learning; compare a toddler to a school kid
2) break kids into accepting authority from people they don't know or respect
3) mold them into believing their self-worth comes from outside, teachers, exams,..
Most importantly: stopping kids from thinking.
We serve the elite.

Good discussion. It's tricky finding just the right amount to push our kids without underdoing it or overdoing it. It's good to have the discussion.

Thanks to all those who spoke. At home now we are trying to change and stress learning the material and understanding the concepts instead of pushing for grades.
