Where did you buy this part? Or in other words what is it refered to as on sites like ebay. Alls I can find is parts which have the lcd digitizer and glass glued togerther. Where can I find something that includes everything including the outer metal ring thing like you had in the video.

@littlelarry33 you should just do an ebay search of lcd/digitizer and midboard and you'll find a few. For the iPhone 2G you can only get the LCD/digitizer fused together, do not get scammed by those suggesting you can get them separate, or for that matter separate them with an exacto knife.

@joozbajada the LCD and digitizer on the 2G are fuzed together, unlike like the 3G/s which has each separate. If you're asking about the mid-board and LCD/digitizer being together the answer is no, unless you find someone or a company which sells them together. That is what I did by just keeping an eye on ebay you can periodically find companies which part out iPhones.

Hi there,
thanks for the video! Do you have a company name for the refurbished parts? I've searched Ebay and can't find the whole unit you managed to buy.

@andymcquade I've had to keep my eye open on ebay, there are companies both in US and China which do salvage for iPhones and part them out, it's hit or miss but usually just a matter of keeping your eye open for them when they sell something.

wiggling it bent the last ribbon!..

@karma2k1 This is delicate work, don't force anything... that said - they're all meant to bend and be flexible. The ribbon cable you have to wiggle a bit at the end to slip into the pin connector, I usually bend myself right around the area where it gets really narrow - this seems to help line up the ribbon so it goes all the way into the pin connector. You'll know it's all the way in because that white line running across it will line up with the edge of your motherboard.
