17 July 2011 @ Terrey Hills (NSW) :: my shodan grading under the auspices of Aikido Kenkyukai International (AKI) Australia.

I would like to foremost thank all my past and present senseis, sempais, and fellow aikidoka. In particular, I want to make a special shout out to the UTAS Aikido Club (under Fuji Ryu as well as AKI) for building up my Aikido foundation, and Aikido Yuishinkai Bentleigh for welcoming me and giving me opportunity to prepare for this grading.

Watch out your ashi sabaki, tai sabaki and please the kamae. There are others things too, but your posture wasn't the expected for a shodan. For me, based on what I see in Japan, you were more for a 5 kyu than for a shodan. Don't get it personally, it is just an advice.

The Doshu once grabbed my arm and said: "Kamaete", and I never forgot it.

Great Vid!!.. I'm looking to start Aikido, any advice cause I'm a bit unsure about going to the class it looks really difficult??

@BifurPoint as they say, the hardest step is the first step you take into the dojo... and then again, so is every other one after that. ;)
