id throw a 2 cell 6 volt lipo 1700mah battery in and take a small sware of platic off the top to make it lighter

Yeah alot of people say this but unfortunately it wouldn't work because the circuit board couldnt handle the voltage difference and it might not seem like it but an extra battery would add too much weight. You have to think scale, its like adding another v8 to a corvette. huge weight gain.

them are nice for a rainy day inside but u should deffinatley go to hobbygrade look on here and type in nitro rc car and look at them

mod it, goes 100 times faster, and some of them are not that hard to do, I recomend dual battery

i hope youre saying this because youve successfully tried it. Not only would adding an extra battery add weight, it would double the circuit voltage wich will cause it to fry.

@angelizquier1 Go LiPo. Much less weight. Two 3.7v LiPos (6.4v) would probably be around half the weight of one NiMH in the ZZs. Also, many people have dual celled or even tripple celled zipzaps before the PCB over-volted.

Speedy little thing. Ever thought of racing it against a late model gen 1 Zip Zap with the same set-up?

I know that these gen 2's have more voltage but the gen 1's have a lighter chasis.

Also, you might want to try all season tires for better handling.

I had one of the motor kits, but it dissapeared. Seems like the body kits are a dime a dozen, but the motors are rare these days. Fun little suckers.

okay goto rc store and buy a airplane battery and watch that one go trust me me and my father did it and we couldnt be touched. our pace is jogging pace seriously

Running the Zip Zap like that on the floor will ruin it fast. You should run the car only on a track. If you run it on the floor at all it will pick up hair and lint. It gets caught in the axles and it's difficult to get out. It will cause the car to lose speed, lock up, or pull to one side, or all of the above. I run mine on a track only....never on the floor.
