The final scene from the Japanese horror film Jigoku (1960), by Nobuo Nakagawa. In the film's own context the silence of these scenes functions as an effective contrast to the noise of the previous scenes taking place in Hell.
When is enough enough? Doesn't this finally change you? This movie is about having to deal with your f-ups in life and the evil inside of you. Makes me want to cry, I atone now for my sins. Watch the whole movie if they rerun in it on TMC, you'll see what the characters go through.
It's a long movie, but a very good movie. It shows the grizzly Budist version of Hell.

I only saw the movie once and I didn't quite get the bit at the end. Good movie though.
