@ Glitzyside: please before saying any uncorrect thing, as for the number Zero, you have to bring evidence . they did contrebute to the developement of science and they DID invent this number. concerning the country where Fabunacci studied it is Bouge a nick name to a north east town in AlgEria now adays called Bejaia. it was called Bouge because it was the homeland of many scholar.

Sorry you made the claim, you prove it, besides, lets assume for a moment that they discovered or invented the Zero, their civilization died before passing anything on.
The fact is, Europe launched their Renaissance only after exposure to the Andalusian civilisation and science. I had the pleasure of reading maths at university in London, My lecturer who was a proper English Gentleman enjoyed researching Muslim and Arab mathematichians from the time of the Caliphate in baghdad to Andalus
