No adapters, no lighting, no post coloring, just a raw reel from my first day with the Canon XH-A1 prosumer camera. In-camera presets have been adjusted to what I conceive to be a 'filmic' look. This was only acquired after about 20 minutes of tinkering and think the image can be even more improved upon. The glass on this camera is just phenomenal. My only major tiff with this camera is that critical focusing is practically impossible with such a tiny LCD, mostly relying on experience & instinct. This footage was the camera's first official capture. Call me crazy, but so far I'm enjoying it more than the HVX200 I generally shoot with, as-well as the Sony HDV's I use at work. The 2.39:1 aspect ratio is an awesome feature.
im thinking of getting an xh a1 and selling my hv40. I saw an xh a1 going for $500 online.

Not quite a film look IMO, the depth of field and framerate seems more like a home video look
