Demo 1 of 10: Surfing the web.
Imagine being able to easily point-and-click at anything on your large HDTV screen from the comfort of your living room couch. Just point with your remote. And if you want to zoom in on text or picture, pull the remote towards you to zoom. Or instantly materialize the on-screen keyboard to type in a link. Pan the picture by holding a button and grabbing the screen. Easily surf forward and back and even play tons of on-line games. And best of all you can watch YouTube from the couch!!
ThinkOptics has just launched this free-space 3D direct-pointing remote control called the Wavit and it will revolutionize the way we watch and navigate content from the living room couch. Think of it as the Wii for the PC. In fact, it may even replace all your remotes, keyboard, mice and games controllers in your living room. With extremely accurate laser-like pointing it makes pointing easy, natural, and very fast. It also detects more degrees of freedom, including the twist angle of the remote (used for virtual dials), your remote's distance form the screen with sub-mm resolution (used for zooming), and even your lateral position in the room. It also has vibration feedback used, for example, for feeling icons or the boundaries of the screen. It has an IR learning capability and doubles as a powerful IR blaster. Visit www.wavit.com for more information.

Actually it can't do all that this device can. This one has 5 degrees of freedom, and much higher resolution than the Wii. It also has a much longer battery life and much longer pointing range. It also has a built in Universal Learning Remote capability. It is for the PC and comes with a full API if anyone wants to program new interfaces or options. BUT yes, it is very similar to the Wii.
