well. the "organ grinder" would usually be the person, not the instrument...
regarding the "other kind" of *grind*Organ*:
does it look somewhat like the instrument in my other Videos?
It is also part of the group of mechanical music instruments, but belongs more to the sub-section of music-boxes, rather then grind organs...

I see. i saw another kind of organ grinder it looked alot like those old coffee grinders but the crank was on the side and it played cardboard or paper discs are those the same as the one in this vid

correct :-)

oh I see you have to turn the crank at different speeds according to the music being played so timing is everything

larger instruments will run either solely off electric motors or can atleast be switched to them.
Will it work as well? No, because the electric motor obviously will just keep a consistent speed and not "play rythmically" as an actual person would (or should!)

can you connect a small drive motor to this thing or will it not work as well

well, let me put it this way:
it takes less practice then learning a particular tune for a traditional non-mechanical instrument;
however, some practice as well as a musical ear are essential for a good result indeed

WOW! i bet lots of practice is involved! LOL
