I have to think that the high level AIs in this game are just overly ridiculous. I like the game, but I'm not going to stick around for 20 minutes waiting for the stupid thing to die, assuming I don't screw up before then.

@HiddenPower13 I have this on an emulator and I know EXACTLY how slow you're talking about.

I have to agree. The Puzzle League DS AI on the hardest difficulty has got to be the most powerful AI this franchise knows. Normally, that would be an excellent thing, but I have two problems here:
1. Battling this AI is very time consuming (and frustrating if you keep losing). Matches can take up to 11 minutes before a winner is decided.
2. This game's block falling speed is way too slow. Making high chains is just not all that challenging with that kind of speed.
Good job on winning, though.
Try to find puzzle league and Dr. Mario dual pack for GBA. That has by far the hardest AI in Puzzle League /Panel de Pon difficulty. Its much harder than this. I still can't beat it on the first try. That one in the GBA version has many combinations at which you can set its difficulty.

@ExiledBowser
thanks for the info, i just gave it a try.
it does put up a good fight, but even at the highest difficulty level it loses after 15-25 minutes, just like the one in puzzle league ds.

two questions:
were you using keyboard
how many times have you fought this guy before finally beating him?

yes, i was using the keyboard.
luckily i beat the CPU on my second recording attempt. however, i lose more often against it than i win.

@tooawefullydifferent does it usually take this long to kill it? im still trying to figure out how to kill it besides lasting 10+ minutes

well, you can't really do more than send the CPU garbage blocks (i recommend mixing the blocks. sometimes large ones from a combo, sometimes a lot of little ones. if you only send large blocks, your opponent can easily do high combos and never has to change his system).
as always in this game, it all comes down to mistakes. i've seen the hard lvl10 cpu lose only 4 minutes into the game, but sometimes it survives 20 minutes or more.
just be persistent and somtimes you're lucky.^^
