But thats only after the stoner grand kids run it out of gas and wreck the front end. Now you have to put at least 2.000 or mor to repair all the damage . I know beacuse I bought a 96 towncar from a stoner who smashed all the fiberglass on the front end that I now have to repair. Thank god he did not have any money for more gas cause them he would of wrecked the whole car!!
If you could buy a top of the line car for 5,000 dollors back then . Now I cant even buy a new car with all the bells and wisles for no less then 40,000 now witch would be the equivlent to a old big boat lincoln. Now a lot of you would say that you can find nice cars for around 10,000 but there used up and ran into the ground and need everything . yes I know that sometimes you can find a low milage car for a reasanble price but thats only after the old person dies and the grandkids run-
@Gossage54 Mazda has kept up the rustbucket tradition. I own a 2004 Mazda 3 and know all about it.
Of course, it's not ready for the junkyard, but it's a disgrace compared to other new cars. My '94 VW Golf was far superior...in terms of rust, at least.
@jherskine The Monzas, Vegas, Skyhawks were some of the most disgraceful outputs from GM in the 70s. I remember a neighbor buying a Vega and it rusted out and was junked in about 3 years. Crazy to think now but can you imagine buying a car new in 07/08 and now having it being a rustbucket sent to the junkyard?!
Trading away the Vegas would not have been a big loss to me!!!!!! Now, if it had been a Nova, Chevelle, Impala, or Caprice, then I would have tried really hard to get Monty to bend the rules & let me have the car again!!!!!

Not too surprising, early 70's Camaros are highly sought after...

I had a 1976 Chevy Monza when I was a teenager. That car was a piece of junk! The hatch literally rusted off!
