Because I'm not stupid enough to donate money to Rolfe, nor ZE Frank, or any other online video maker. Why? It's called a bank, or a credit union, get a loan, Kevin Smith opened up 7 credit cards to make Clerks, cost him $27,000 to do it. Sam Raimi busted his ass to sell the script for Evil Dead, as did George Lucas for Star Wars. If Rolfe wants to aspire to be like these men, he should work for it, not fuck his fans to do so. If he doesn't have the will to do so fuck him, he's lazy. The End.

@doctorjoker87 your point is flawed since these men did not become famous via the youtube generation it would have been impossible for them to do what AVGN is doing hence u cant say they wouldn't have done the same thing, also he has made many films on his own and this is a very ambitious project that requires alot, its your choice not to donate and most ppl will respect that, So! respect others choice to donate(invest) in something that they choose, lets end this nonsense debate.

@triipge For that crock of shit? Probably!

@sec0ndevolution do you need to go back to school and get reading comprehension skills baby?

AVGN... You could of made enough money on ad revanue and paypal. You dont need the extra money for a film. I mean why do you need THIS MUCH money?
-
@shaolinXtreme What? That didn't make a lick of sense.

Theyre both begging. The difference, of course, is that one of them is begging for funds to create a movie based on his own original idea and material, while the other is begging for money to produce a product based on blatant plagerism...

AVGN fans have some sort of internet Stockholm Syndrome.

This was one of the funniest videos I have seen. Or parts of it anyway. I would remove all the clips that you used that wasn;t of you. Your reaction to the irate gamer and avgn was fucking hilarious man
You say AVGN fans do not have objectivity, yet you imply that the AVGN movie, which you have not seen because it has not been released yet will automatically be the worst thing possible, simply because it is created by the AVGN?
Of course people who have donated will probably like the movie, because they are obviously big fans to begin with, but if no effort has been put into it, you're kidding yourself if you think people will accept that.

@Scoat I implied no such thing, actually. I suggested that people should question the ridiculous amount of begging coming from him, is all. I don't for a moment think his movie will reflect a 400k+ budget, however.

@Asalieri2 So the whole "and that's just a mild interpretation of what's going to happen here" was only referring to how his fans are going to react? Completely objective?
As well as this, what "ridiculous amount of begging" did he display? As far as I'm aware he pretty much asked for people to donate to his movie fund, and people donated. Please though, tell me if I'm wrong.
Also $400000 is a lot a small project, but locations and everything add up. It's not much for a movie.

@Scoat correct.
Dude, he set up a donation drive for only 75k. When he realized he could get more from the rubes, he kept taking money until that particular drive ended at 325k. In addition to this, he had the gall to ask for MORE money on several different occasions WHILE his already insane drive of 325k was happening! I call that ridiculous indeed.

@Asalieri2 Have you seen how much it costs to shoot a quality movie? Taking out the budget for cast, directors and screenplay costs etc, $400k is NOTHING; it would be no less than $1mil, and that's being generous. I'm not saying AVGN will go all out, but locations, production and travel costs add up to a lot.
Take The Blair Witch Project for example, hailed for it's low budget. Cost $500k-$750k. People think this stuff is cheap, but if you're not shooting it in your backyard it adds up.

@Scoat what's funny is, he could literally just make a regular episode of his show and his fans wouldn't think anything of it. I highly doubt his movie is going to reflect 400k worth of investment.
