Peter Jackson's pictures, Ralph Bakshis soundtrack, my cut. See it in HIGH QUALITY!!!
"A shadow of the past."
From the beginning I didn't want to change anything in the soundtrack. But soon I realized that it was impossible to leave it unchanged.
When Gandalf returns in Bakshi's film Frodo is asleep snoring. And Gandalf has to wake him by knocking at the door several times. I had to cut out the snoring and the knocking.
And because Frodo and Sam escapes whith Gandalf in Jackson's film I chose to add birdsong to the scene where Gandalf tells the two hobbits how to act.

  • Its too bad that Ralph Bakshi didn't make a movie of the Two Towers, for it woud've been released in 1980, but it didn't.

  • No way! Incredible job.

  • Wow. They just, uh, jumped right in there, didn't they?

  • gandalf...is Qui Gon Jinn from star wars, right?

  • @MysticArksRevenge well, it's not his fault, he wanted to make the last half, but the producers felt that it shud have just lotr instead of lotr part one, so people tought it was the whole thing and got pissed, and Bakshi lost funding to do the sequel.

  • I just noticed something about the dialogue: Sam says he heard Gandalf and Frodo talking about elves, but during the whole conversation they didn't mention elves once.

  • @xIegionx I think so too.

  • @MysticArksRevenge but that was basically the set of two towers. Bakshi might've made one more film that finished it with the trees destroying Saruman's tower and then the return of the king.

I think both of these men did a great job at accurately portraying the film.

  • @xIegionx Yeah. The 1978 Lord of the Rings only had the battle of Helm's Deep.

  • @MysticArksRevenge Didn't his LOTR have the battle of helms deep though? That was mostly the two towers

  • very skillfully done. Don't think the two sams will sync up often at all, but it's pretty hilarious.

Hackary64 started the same project 3 years ago, not as good but he made some hilarious choices, in particular with the fire writing on the ring.

  • even sam's HOHOOORTAY!!!
