I recently looked into replacing my clutch and flywheel. I would have gotten the JWT lightweight flywheel, but after hearing the chatter it makes from a youtube video, I thought otherwise. The factory flywheel is 28 pounds and was $1300 at the dealer. The JWT is 14 pounds and only $400. I was sold on the performance a lightweight one provides, but the idle chatter sounds terrible. Hurts resale value as well. After more research, the Nismo flywheel for the 350z and G35 weighs in at 22 pounds, and is around $600. I thought it was a good medium in terms of meeting halfway on the performance aspect, as well as less chatter. I could never find any videos on the chatter a NISMO flywheel makes, so I hope this helps someone in the same situation I was in. The car was just warming up, just pay attention to the chatter sound. You can't hear it at all in the interior, the A/C was on until I turned it off at the end... *** I also have a Borla exhaust, that sound has nothing to do with the flywheel. The very end actually shows the sound of the light chatter the best...

Good luck with your G

  • I have an aftermarket flywheel in my G coupe that I bought it with i'm just not sure what kind it is. Mine sort of sounds about that noisy when idle. I was thinking about getting the nismo flywheel because it's supposedly the quietest besides stock. Does yours make a grinding noise at low rpms? If so how badly would you say it is? Thanks!

  • @tlyn18 I will make another video. The engine sounds louder than it is at the beginning. Plus I got the 05-06 18inch wheels now, haha. There is that chatter when it is idle, and as soon as I push the clutch in it is completely quiet. I have not noticed ANY grinding noise at low RPMs... I have been pretty happy with it. Sorry I didn't respond sooner!

  • I am at a loss of what to do right now. My clutch slips way toooo much. I want the nismo flywheel and have a hook up that can get it for 460. But I dont know if I should pair it up with JWT clutch kit = 900 OR just get the JWT clutch +flywheel for 775?

  • @tlyn18 i have a after market Exedy flywheel! it have a little bit of chatter noiuse! but when i rip it, it was slipping! is it happen to u?

  • wow thanks for showing the difference :/ you didn't even rev it

  • nismo is half the price? cool

  • Does it rev up much quicker? I doubt taking 6lbs off of the flywheel will add that much power although I love engines that rev high real fast...I have a TT g35 sedan 6mt (twin gt2876rs's) and am still on the stock flywheel and need a new one.

  • so the NISMO FLYWHEEL is paired up with the stock clutch? or are you using another clutch?

  • GREAT video. i think ill be getting a nismo flywheel too.

and i too have a borla but for my coupe.! i love it.
