  • 1) Assert straw man arguments

    2) Ignore actual anarchist position(s)

    3) Act condescending

    4) ???????

    5) PROFIT!!!!!!

  • variablast has a problem with anarchists actually existing and holding on to their position. The fact that he exists and anarchists exist causes a lot of cognitive dissonance for him. I mean, its somewhat evident in his comment on the page. There is no rebuttal, yet its as if he's saying go ahead and try it. Yet he supports the institution which makes the experiment impossible.

  • @HolidayFortnight The "free market" is an idealized construct much like Galileo's "frictionless plane." It is useful in theoretic speculation, but it would be disastrous to assume that the real world market ever COULD behave in such a manner. In order to function even within the realm of theory it must make certain assumptions about human behavior which a child could confute. It is a fact that market systems work with some margin of efficiency only in ordoliberal and social-democratic systems.

  • @DonVoghano "A lessez-faire system has no tools"

It's called private property and it's pretty essential to free market anarchism. As it stands today we're all at the mercy of the (pro-corporatist) state when it comes to keeping corporations accountable for pollution, which is a violation of property rights. The free market is infinitely better at solving these problems than the state because it puts power back into the hands of the people who actually suffer from said property violations.

  • @variablast sept the one pointed out in this video

  • @variablast did i send you here?

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 Ron Paul does, however, support competition among currency, free banking system, opposes taxation and also opposes traditional minarchist positions of monopolized services. So is he somewhere on the road to being an Anti-Statist, but not exactly a Minarchist. (I am assuming you mean Anarchism as in opposition to a fiat land claim, and taxation.)

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 I think Saint Max would agree.

  • @Torakization Ron Paul isn't an anarchist. His political platform isn't anywhere NEAR traditional anarchism.

  • Would Ron Paul or Goldberg agree ?

  • Another important thing to remember is that a private fire service which allows fires to spread from uninsured houses to insured houses wouldn't do very well when competing with a business which has found some way to solve this issue.

  • I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you talk about an "anarchist public option". I'm having trouble seeing the difference between that and simple insurance.
