Yes, that kid. Singer should have known better. Sons of Superman belong in Elseworlds titles, not in the movies. They didn't even give him a child in the Smallville series, and that wasn't the best written Superman story of them all. Thankfully, we won't have to worry about this crap in the new movie.

More like Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane was a whiny, miserable bitch. All she did most of the time was complain about or condescend Superman. There were too many things wrong with this movie to cover in just one five minute review. Superman Returns had points it could have capitalized on, but instead squandered them. The new movie will give us what we want. I have faith Amy Adams will make a much more likable, and as Ebert and Roeper said, plucky Lois Lane, just like she should be.

Yes, and I guess they were also expecting us to accept the proposed 5 year absence from one movie dated in the 1980s to another set in the mid-2000s. The technological progression in Metropolis must have been astounding during that time. :P Here's to the upcoming Man of Steel movie. Let's hope it rocks.

Or just reboot the damn thing. :P I'm looking forward to The Man of Steel very much. I think it will allow us to forget about this sad attempt at trying to resurrect Superman. And I agree wholeheartedly about the kid. I mean, a dull, asthmatic super-murderer? Lois Lane obviously wasn't teaching her son much about how to disarm criminals rather than just smashing them with pianos. :P I have no idea what the hell Bryan Singer was thinking with this movie.

  • This movie had some really great moments, unfortunately they're followed up by some really bad acting and dull scenes. I thought the guy they picked to play Superman was terrific, looks just like Christopher Reeves however the rest of the cast sucks. The script was horrible as well, the running time of 2 and half hours was way to long, they could have cut the last 30 minutes (kid part) out entirely.

  • The moment they decided to have this movie pick up from the Christopher Reeve films---in some bizarre, convoluted way I still haven't figured out---they doomed it.

As for Kevin Spacey, watching his Gene-Hackman-as-Lex-Luthor impression, and that's precisely what it was,was just sad.

  • Didn't like this film at all. As Roger says, Clark/Superman has so little dialogue its hard to connect with him, he spends more time worrying about Lois than he does about doing his Man of Steel duties, Frank Langella is much too reserved as Perry White, and Kate totally misses the mark as Lois. The plane rescue was well done, but any action it tried to give us was just dull.

Don't even get me started on the kid. Ugh.

  • i thought it was pretty good. above average for me.

  • I tried to like this movie. And... I failed.

It is a shame that Bryan Singer dropped out of X-Men 3 to do this.

  • this was the most boring and one of the worst movie of all time
