Over the last 17 years, I have developed a specialized knowledge of financial, accounting, and mortgage fraud, unmatched by any other candidate - Republican or Democrat. From 1992 to 2005, I investigated and prosecuted, in civil and criminal courts, all types of financial fraud as an Assistant Attorney General. From 2005-2009, I oversaw the investigation of financial and mortgage fraud as an Assistant Superintendent (2005) and as Superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions (2006-09). In 2006, I successfully pushed for legislation to make mortgage fraud a felony. In 2007 and 2008, I worked with Republican and Democrat legislators to pass legislation requiring mortgage loan officers to be licensed and to get the felons out of the business.
