not true n ya better do some more research. ones in the end did bad and was becuase of the brothers and Sammy just wanted to get them dome and away from them and out of the band. only the first Van halen albums did well and then back slid just like their shows. they went down hill big time before sammy came by and got them a leg up...

That's actually not true in the least. VH1 and 1984 sold more albums than the entire Van Hagar catalog. Sammy always misstates this because it makes his era of the band look bad...because it should. Each album Sammy recorded with them, sold less than the one before. Hardly rock star material.

Hagar blows roth away!! he brought so much more to the table than just being a good front man with an ego problem and personaly the van halens are magot punks, even though ed WAS one of the best in the world and long gone n what a waste case he is now. and as far as him with VH, was the only time their albums sold as many as they did and more than when had maggot roth with them!! FACT!!

Thou art wrong! Neither went number one, Van Halen's only number one was Jump (a DLR song). To your second point, do you think anybody cares about the Grammy's anymore? They go right in with Rolling Stone: a bunch of music "experts" who are completely out of touch with what fans really like.

If you question Sammy's guitar playing ability evidently you were'nt around back in the day to have seen the guitar battles between Hagar and Gary Pihl live.Sammy can kick some serious ass playing playing guitar not to mention that he penned almost all of his own songs during his solo career.

Whether VH had David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar, they both brought something different to the table. Of course, I enjoy "old" Van Halen the best as that was when I in my "prime"...LOL!!!
