Mecca Laalaa talks about her muslim identity and how the cronulla riots and september eleven changed her world. We also talk about how its we who put meaning on symbols and its up to us to change their meanings.
What a load of b/s. The so called "riots" occurred as a result of an attack on a lifeguard by muslim lebanese and most of the discontent Australians have about this religious community extends from their anti-social behaviour and their constant pressure to change aspects of Australian culture to suit themselves.
Cronulla "riots"? It was (maybe the first step in an ongoing counterattack?) a reaction against years of horrendous criminal activity, assault, and violence, perpertrated by Lebanese - and other such types - who sould NOT bein our country! Then, that people have the God-damned nerve to pontificate about the Australian identity??? Foreigners have NO right to "change" our society, or the meaning of it!
@Flakjacket007 you can come to a muslim country, no problem. Have you been to Egypt their are millions of muslims living with each other, churches and mosques are right next to each other... its beautiful you should check it out. They are all brothers eating from the same plate etc
So she has freedom to choose her beliefs? Imagine that! Now go to a Muslim country and let's see if the same freedom to choose exists. No condemnation of her barbaric religion's worst terror attack either - just how her poor family suffered as a result of 3000 people being murdered!
@1kingOmar
Absolute nonsense. The Copts in Egypt suffer more persecution than any other religious group in the world.
the only place where churches and mosques are right next to each other with no problems is in the Western world.

@1kingOmar I'm sure there are a lot of Copts that wouldn't agree with you.
