the ball went through the uprights while it was still overtop of the posts. the reason the ball looks like it deflected off the post is because it hit the net. look at the height at which the ball makes contact with the net. add to that, the net is12 yards past the goal post, and it confirms that the field goal was good.

It didn't go over the post, and it didn't hit the net for another 1/2 second past the glance, approx 10 ft behind the post per NFL rules

wow, some of you aren't thinking. the kick missed, end of story, there's no other way of physically explaining why the ball partially disappears behind the right upright. if it was good, there's no possible way that could happen. and yes the league will cover it up, there's nothing else for them to do.
