poem about a situation

onceuponatime, i had a beautiful vision
with an ounce of hope
which was quickly corrected by reality
and soon afterward
there was the inevitable echoing laughter
of coincidental events.

naturally, Nabokov would have noticed it
as the metaphysical hand of gravity
slapping matter-of-factly
on my face.

  • @Sherwulff i'm tempted to share it on the facebook

  • @Barklord definitely, let's just hope youtube doesn't decide to graduate him for his work of art

  • @Sherwulff then that includes Fred.

  • @Barklord only the naked and the dead

  • @JonPaulPrime Thanks, but I know better. More like a lucky shot in the dark. lol

  • @Sherwulff do we ever graduate from that school?

  • @tinySpectacle Thank you.

  • @Koluhseeuhm I think the Police song was kind of like the Lolita theme but this is about my recurring job issues. The only thing I've ever read by Nabokov was a little paperback called Nabokov's Quartet. Four short stories, each like a slap in the face.
