@Islandjerry The prices have increased quite a bit. Nipa roofing panels are no where near that cheap anymore. At least in Antique. We grow our own bamboo, so at least that doesn't cost me anything but harvesting labor. We are having one built now for our trip next month. It's still the cheapest way to go.

Great job! I will bookmark this one.

Nicely done and thanks for sharing this video. I'm also planning to have one installed on the roof our family house in metro manila. This will cost around 17,000 pesos in cavite so yours is a bargain.

@dimoneddancing . This was 5 years ago so I'm sure prices have gone up. It took 3 days

Is it easy to rebuild every few years after a couple typhoons dig into it? I guess the bugs also must be very happy in there eating at them after awhile. My dream = a 40' bluewater boat, a nice slip and a nipa hut!

@jazzlover10000 It's extremely easy to rebuild. The one you see in the video is now almost 6 years old and has been through 3 typhoons with no damage what so ever and still has the original nepa leaves

@MrTommyRico Since I'm the one that built it I know what I paid and it was $250 "man"
