blistering fast and had to use more skill than electronics. A true display of driving ability, intuition and talent. Cheers to both racers.

This is the proof that Senna was much better driver than Schumacher... Older car, manual gearbox, and almost the same lap time...
-
u cant possibly campare the 2 because Senna had no where near the advantages schumacher had in technology.
-
@dkdadlh Only the Ferrari in 1989 had a semi-automatic gearbox. The rest all had manual gearboxes.
-
but in 1989 the transmission was full manual or semi-automatic?

senna & schumacher,, both gods of their time,, its a real shame senna's life was cut so short,,, we never really got a proper chance to compare these guys in equal cars on the same track,, to me they are both heros who we should not try to compare

@comlax22 I agree. Those 89 cars are much more challenging to drive than recent F1s

@arturcraft2 more powerful engine, nearly zero electronic intervention as today...F1 know it alls are such dicks.
Senna has no downforce and is shifting with one hand!!! Can u imagine steering one handed at these speeds. Senna had 65 poles in just 162 races to MS's 68 poles in 250 races ...plus Senna had Prost to contend while MS had little competition. Senna was the greatest ever by far!
