Towards the end of my 2 and a half years at CVS by the Sports Complex, I had the pleasure of ringing up Tolly's purchases. I was choked up the whole time doing so and told him before he left it was a pleasure to help him because I watched him for so many years. He was really touched by that. A true class act Don Tolly.

Out of the three at the WPVI desk, only Gardner remains. Dave Roberts retired in 2009. Tollefson joined WTXF (Fox 29) in the 2000's, but if I remember right, he was fired from that station in 2008 right after returning from injuries suffered in an auto wreck. Many people feel that Don's firing was unfair.

@narutomustgonow the old news broadcasts had, but as the faces change. Local TV news seems less appealing. today even with all the bells and whistles.

@TG1980 well Will Ferrell's Anchorman movie wasn't too far from the actual news shows of that era. Saying that. The News today has become so boring in presentation.since even the 90s that I rarely watch ANY TV news any more. My news comes from News Radio and tje Internet and if it's TV then the BBC, nothing else. With some exceptions ( Jim Gardner, until hhe eventually retires) the era of that "TV news family" is over and done with IMO. I miss the kind of community spirit ....

Robelot wasn't on 10 much longer after this. Once the affiliation switch took place, her and the rest of CBS went to 3.
