I was handed this promotional video for the Sega Mega-CD at the first Gamesmaster Live event at the Birmingham NEC some time in the early 90's. Quite interesting to look back on, especially as the Mega-CD add-on for the Megadrive was so woefully poor! "500 MB of pure gaming power", marvelous stuff.

  • well im sold.

  • Well haven't you just got a whole load of sand in your vagina tonight, you irritable little madam?

Between your piss poor grasp of grammar, punctuation, the English language in general and your childish overall reaction to a harmless little jokey comment, I'd be surprised if you were 3 years old, let alone 30.

Let's be honest, you've quite adequately proven yourself to be the only 'thick moron' here :)

  • I watched this damn promo video about a hundred times when I was anticipating the Mega CD...how little I knew. Still, cheesy though it is, I still love the music in this.

  • haha i had this in VHS

  • what name the classic music theme of begin?

  • joe satrianie song in the middle :D

  • Great! I remember seeing this on a tape that came with Mean Machines (Sega). The same tape also show some Game Gear Tazamania and the utterly incredible Streets of Rage 2 and Sonic 2! Last year i finally bought a Sega CD of ebay. Downloaded Sonic CD, Final Fight, Lunar and wel... the rest of the games suck! Yup... That's correct!

  • super smash bros. window

  • *Sigh*

It's a promtional video, not an advert. It was given away free with the greteast console magazine ever written, Mean Machines.

  • does anyone know who made the (clay) animation?

(they also did some 90's MTV intros

  • Back in 1992, anyone who worked with early PC CD-ROM's knew that the claims Sega were making here were just not realistic. I remember seeing this shown in a Virgin Megastore at the time and having real doubts about it. They were hyping it up to be far, far more than it was.

  • @orangestew Yeah I still have the Mean Machines VHS tape with this on it. While I was working at Sega here in Australia we used it to try and convince some local big chains to hop on board locally with the whole launch. It actually failed to impress the big wigs at the time.
