@MadPutz I don't know if provinces can fight eachother, but they can become war zones for guilds to fight in. They are also adding Server vs Server PvP in the next update.

Can provinces go to war with each other, with players and npcs fighting in massive battles?

There should be more awareness about this game - if anything it should fuel a good rivalry between Guild Wars 2 and both games will be better for it.
