DMX gives the ability to control your lights, and if it says DMX, it goes into the category of intellegent light system instead, because you can control the features of the light. Like say you want it to rotate or make the flow of the patterns faster, dim it, strobe it, and change different colors for different settings. Once you get into the field of DMX lights programming, you'll be amazed of the possibiliies you can do. And with great experience you can call your self lighting engineer. =D

yes, you can. let the color wheel rotate to the color you like, then lock it in. I project mine onto a piece of frosted glass from behind. Looks like water is running down glass in my home theater and kitchen area. Way cool. Everyone who sees it thinks it is the neatest effect they have ever seen.
