Il portiere di notte

The dark and melancholy story of a former teenage Nazi concentration camp inmate, Lucia, and the S.S. officer who was her torturer/lover, Max , who accidentally meet again in a Vienna hotel in 1957 where Max works as the night porter. They resume their sadomasochistic relationship, although Max's former S.S. comrades have something different in mind for them. The story unfolds like a gruesome dance of death.

I knew Dirk many years ago when I lived in England. He was not a close friend, but we had friends in common. I visited him in Venice when he was making the Luchino Visconti film "A Death In Venice". Much of the shooting took place at the Hotel Des Baines on the Lido. I also saw other members of the cast. Dirk was a gentle and kindly man of great talent in acting and writing, RIP.

@BerlinBunker1 My father resembled him in an incredible way . It was just amazing. In fact when my mother met him said: " Do you know Dirk Bogarde, well because your his twin on Earth". I've always had a great admiration and deep affection for Dirk and not only because he reminded me of my dad, but because he was a great actor. You have been so lucky to meet him. My father died in 1997. When Dirk died then, it was so painful...

Film splendide, le couple C.Rampling - bogarde est GENIAL ! Et une fois de + L'Amour est vainqueur ! :-)...Portier de Nuit est difficile a trouver , c dommage, de plus il y a très peu de scènes violentes , choquantes. Il y a pire à la télé, aujourd'hui, en plein a.midi !!
