I've got a Model D that i'd like to sell. Bought it back in '75. Gigged for about a year or two then put it in storage. And there it sits. I'll take B/O.

@brianmcnett I own three original Mnimoogs - have just recently acquired and restored my third. I regularly gig them and have done so since the mid 80's - with absolutely no problems. They are reliable and solid. There is nothing wrong with 30 year old electronics, believe me....!!

why dont they make such fuckin awesome synths anymore

Great job. But the mini sounds canned compared to the Model D. The Prophet 5 is warmer as well. It's shame the best synths are long gone.

@TheSongsparrow I beg to differ! I think something is lost when uploading this to YouTube. There's nothing "canned" about the Old School, and although the Model D sounds fantastic, the NEWEST of them are now 30 years old. Thirty year old electronics are a bear to maintain, and I certainly wouldn't care to gig with that.

This is awesome. I've been torn between a Poly Evolver or a Prophet '08 for awhile. I think I found my answer.

@justplainpaul The Prophet '08 is awesome. It's a fantastic synth all around. I've had mine for nearly two years. If you can, get the Prophet '08 PE. The rotory encoders on the original tend to gum up and become erratic with time. "PE" stands for "Potentiometer Edition". It uses potentiometers, rather than digital encoders where ever it's possible to do so. That makes long-term care easier. Otherwise, it's still an incredible synth. My go-to instrument for all sorts of things
