I believe this was 1998, because Tom was on his way out as host of the show by this time. I didn't watch Snyder much at the time either, only once in a while, but looking back, I wish I did. There's a sense of quality to him that you don't see anymore.

these two were rivals in a sense because of the time slot, right? they gotalong great. tom snyder brings that out in his guests. shares personal anecdotes so the guest can relate and makes it comfortable. i like it when hosts give certain guests a hard time cause its just plain funny but itd be nice to have one of these shows again

Conan never opens up to ANYONE.
Probably saw an old fashion character in tom liken to his father - I've never seen Conan Open up like this. I think he folds his arms because he sees himself opening up 'too much' for his comfort.

Great stuff. :) I have Tom Snyder's appearance on Conan (that Tom refers to at the end) on tape somewhere, but since Snyder's show was on opposite Conan the same night, I missed this episode, and never saw it until now. :) Thanks for posting.

No, sorry I don't have Tom's appearance on Conan. What year was that? I don't think I ever saw it. I didn't watch Tom Snyder much either. I think the only other one I have on tape is his interview with Drew Barrymore.
