These commercials aired on local ABC affiliate KGO on March 5th, 1983. Thanks to my Aunt & Uncle for recording these.

1. Dodge Ram (Awesome animation. The use of "Night On Bald Mountain" in a commercial for pickup trucks is pretty weird though)
2. Miller Lite (With Ben Davidson, who I assume went on to an illustrious career as a Lumberjack or Norse God)
3. Promo for "ABC World News Tonight"
4. Army (The Army didn't look too bad in the early 80's...then again I'm basing that entirely on the movie "Stripes" so...)
5. Fram Extra Life
6. Lowenbrau (As a kid I knew this as "the beer with the lion on it")
7. Dodge 600
8. USFL Commercial Bumper (The TV Graphics/Animation from back then are amazing...like Neon beer signs come to life)
9. Goodyear Eagle GT (I like the jingle here)
10. Radio Shack TRS80 Model 3 (I love the Onion article about the CEO of Radio Shack not understanding how they stay in business)
11. Promo for "The Renegades" ("Sayonara." With Patrick Swayze!)
12. Pacific Telephone
13. Wells Fargo (I hate it when I miss the stage!)
14. Promo for "The People's Court" (Some weird old lady with her plants...looks gripping)
15. Pennzoil (With Arnold Palmer)
16. Honda ATC (Because when I really need to haul some hay, a three wheel dirt bike is at the top of my equipment list)
17. Sheraton (Cheesetastic)
18. Dodge Omni & Aries K
19. Promo for "ABC's Wide World Of Sports"
20. Miller High Life (Aircraft Manufacturing, Beer and Bowling...an unbeatable combination. I prefer to do all three at the same time)
21. Dodge Challenger & Plymouth Sapporo
22. Noxema (Featuring another conversation a couple would NEVER have)

  • I wish they still made that shaving cream.

Dude, where did you get all these commercials?

  • @5ivepdx "where did you get all these commercials?"

    VHS tapes I recorded

Beta/VHS Tapes my Aunt and Uncle recorded

    VHS tapes people send me

Stuff w/commercials I find on the internet

  • Holy crap the USFL ! Also love those high tech army computers with the reel to reel tapes.

  • @guyinfl99 Magnetic tape is still used for data backups and data archiving, especially by various branches of the Gov't. The latest IBM standard holds about 5 TB per reel.

  • @MattTheSaiyan Wouldn't be surprised since some of those other computers like the Commodore just came as the computer itself with no monitor unless you chose to buy one (or simply wire it to your TV).

  • The various models of theRadio-Shack TRS-80 are collectors item today. However, the price mentioned in this commercial seems a lot more expensive than Commodore and Atari computers of the time. Yes, Atari made full real computers, not just consoles. However, it does seem cheaper than an Apple II of the time. Was the Model III more expensive due to the built-in screen? That seems likely.

  • OMFG...I work at the Sheraton that is featured in minute 6:53 !!!! It's by LAX
